NORMAN EMIL BRUSVEN

Norman Emil Brusven, 88, of Barwick, Ont., passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born July 24, 1917 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Norval and Alma Brusven. He grew up in Bergland, Ont., and spent his early years working as a guide and logger.
He then moved to Barwick, where he met Bonnie Galusha while working for her father. They later were united in marriage in Barwick on Aug. 2, 1940.
They spent the rest of their years farming and raising a family. They also spent many years as foster parents. Dad loved spending time with his family; he also loved camping and fishing.
Surviving are his children, Gene (Lois) Brusven, Judy (Peter) Borger, Linda Haney, Gwen (Bob) Dimit, Don Brusven and friend, Kathy, Debbie (Joe) Schlichter, Brenda (Larry) Hunsperger, Anna (Tony) Dahl, Alana (Rob) Rux, and Nathan Morrison; 31 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by one sister, Dagney; and daughter-in-law, Arnellda Brusven.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie, on May 29, 2002; son, Jack in 1970; and by sisters, Olga, Ethel, Dorthey, and Irene.
Dad has gone to be with Mom, the love of his life, in Heaven.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Sandra McEvoy officiated, with interment in Chapple Cemetery in Barwick.
The pallbearers were Dave Galusha, Herb Hughes, Ron Hughes, Dale Hughes, Ken Wilson, and Larry Stromness.
The eulogy was read by grandson-in-law, Frank King. A poem was read by granddaughter, Tammy McNally-Kinnear.
