In loving memory of Norman Earl Alexander, 79, of Stratton, Ont., who passed away peacefully Monday, March 12, 2001 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Norman was born July 10, 1921 in the family farm in Morley, Ont. to the late George and Edna Alexander, and has lived there all of his life. He was united in marriage to Muriel Miniely on Jan. 31, 1945, and they have spent the last 56 years together.
He worked over the years as a contractor, hauling wood into the local paper mill, trapping, hunting, and fishing. He liked being outdoors.
Norman was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family house and the daily activities were his world; he loved to be there.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Muriel; daughter, Gail and husband, Edwin Gouliquer, of Atikokan, Ont.; grandchildren, Edwin Gouliquer Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie, of Atikokan, Ont., and Therese and husband, Chris Stamler, of Atikokan, Ont.; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Marie, Chantele, and Kaitlyn; sister, Shirley and husband, Cecil Wilson, of Barwick, Ont.; brother, Alvin and wife, Eileen, of Stratton, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Church in Pinewood, Ont., with Rev. William Giovetti and Deacon Glen Armstrong officiating.
Interment will take place at Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Ken Fisher, Bud McQuaker, Melvin Morken, Garry Advent, Bruce Neilson, and Rob White.
Honourary pallbearers will be Cliff Noble, Carson McQuaker, Moie Neilson, Ronnie McQuaker, Bill Anderson, and Carman Neilson.
