Norma Deschamps of Kamloops, B.C. passed away peacefully in her 86th year on Sept. 5, 2011 at the Ridge View Rest Home in Kamloops, B.C.
She was born on Jan 8, 1925 to Jean and Ella Bujold. On June 22, 1948 Norma was united in marriage to James J. Deschamps who predeceased her on Oct. 3, 1997.
Norma loved music and in her later years learned to play the accordion and piano. She also took up tap dancing.
She spent many hours making teas for the ladies in her complex, celebrating birthdays with them and enjoying long walks.
In the last couple of years, Norma enjoyed the quiet of her room, looking out her window watching the birds and deer that were often seen near her home.
Norma will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Carolyn (Robert) Smith of Lethbridge, AB., Dennis (Judy) Deschamps of Logan Lake, B.C. and Delbert (Anne) Deschamps of Fort Frances. ON.
She is also fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Todd, Colleen, Jason, Justin, Chelsey and Michael Smith, Travis and Tyler Deschamps, and Bill Deschamps and Melissa Nelson, as well as with 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Norma is also survived by her sisters, Darlene (Dave) Hughes and Joan (Keith) Van Dame; sisters-in-law, Gertie Bujold and Ethel Bujold; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James; her parents, Jean and Ella Bujold; sisters, Rita and Marie; and brothers, Fritz and Sonny (Buck) Bujold.
Cremation has taken place and internment is at the Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops, B.C.
