Noella Ludmille LaFrance (Northcott), 78, passed away at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Friday, June 18, 2010.
She was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on Dec. 22 1931, part of a family of nine children born to Art and Medora LaFrance.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Northcott; parents, Arthur and Medora LaFrance; and brothers, Leo and Daniel.
She is survived by her son, Leigh Becker and his wife, Laurie, and son, Kyle, and daughter, Danielle.
Also surviving are her sisters, Claudia, Rita, and Cecile; and brothers, Pete, Buzz, and Guy.
Noella was raised in Fort Frances and later married to Glen Becker in 1954. She and Glen relocated to Toronto, Ont.
A split with Glen ensued a few years later and she relocated briefly to Minneapolis, Mn. before moving again back to Toronto, where she worked for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture.
She later remarried to Roy Northcott and eventually retired from working with the Ontario government.
Noella was an avid reader and loved meeting with her friends for coffee.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge, Ont. and she later was cremated at Bowmanville Crematorium.
Her urn will be interned at her parents’ gravesite in Fort Frances, and a family memorial will be held at a later date.
