Nathan McDonald, age 16, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Nathan will be greatly missed by his grandmother, Janet Bruyere; mother, Verna McDonald; father, Edward McDonald; siblings, Edna Kameron (Kevin Scott), Shannon McDonald (Stafford Hawk), Joey McDonald, Kelly McDonald, Cleveland McDonald, Sharnell McDonald, and Shanaya McDonald; grandmother, Matilda McDonald; nephews, Kane Hawk, Scotty, Marty and Dwight Kameron; girlfriend, Hillary Johnson; aunts, Virginia Big George (Jim Spruce), Myrna Napish, Marilyn McDonald, Patricia McDonald and numerous aunts from White Dog, Ont.; uncles, Norman Bruyere (April), Tom Big George (Linda Indian), Harold Big George (Lovella Bruyere), John Big George, Ron McDonald (Linda) and John McDonald and numerous extended family.
He was predeceased by his grandfathers Joe Big George, and Roy McDonald; grandmother, Edna McDonald; and his uncle Bill Big George.
He was born on April 26, 1985 in Kenora, Ontario. Nathan was attending Seven Generations School and living with his grandmother Janet Bruyere in Fort Frances, Ont. He enjoyed playing hockey, skateboarding and spending time with his friends. Nathan loved to play the guitar and listen to music.
A traditional funeral service will be held at the Sabaskong First Nation Gymnasium on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001 at 10 a.m. Robin Green will officiate with interment in the Sabaskong First Nation Cemetery.
A wake will be held at the Sabaskong Gymnasium on Friday, Aug. 3, 2001 starting at 4 p.m.
The pallbearers will be Stafford Hawk, Rodney Yerxa, Rory Bird, Donald Medicine, Joey McDonald, Joe Yerxa and Kevin Yerxa.
The honourary pallbearers will be Harold Big George, John Big George, Tom Big George, Norman Bruyere, Adrian Indian, Justin Kawulia and Danny Yerxa.
