NATHAN IAN JAMES PERREAULT
It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our loving husband, father, son, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and great friend, Nathan Ian James Perreault, on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in Fosston, Mn.
Nathan was born Feb. 29, 1972.
Nathan met the love of his life, Lonnie Kay Sultvedt, at the Red Dog Inn and proceeded to marry her on Aug. 21, 1999.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Lonnie, and his three beautiful children, Mason Gregory Donald, Alexus Mary, and Timothy Soren George Perreault; his parents, Greg and Pauline Perreault; father- and mother-in-law, Don and Joyce Sultvedt; and paternal grandmother, Theresa Perreault.
Also surviving are his auntie and uncle, Sharon and Murray Strachan; his godfather, Glenn Jourdain and his auntie, Genny; his godmother, Juanita (Tina) Wilson (special friend Mike Roy) and Russell (Alice) Bruyere, Mary-Lou (Terry) Parks, Laura (David) Bruyere, Delray (Cindy) Bruyere, Carolyn Sinclair (Bruyere), Kevin Bruyere, Holly (Vernon) Cogger, Guy Bruyere, Cory Fedun, Dennis (Judy) Perreault, Ann (Russell) Jourdain, Linda (Keith) Poissant, Jim (Mona) Zwilling, Jerry (Betty) Sultvedt, Judy (Curt) Bartz and Russell Sultvedt; and numerous special cousins.
He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Julie Sultvedt; and his special friends, Ron Haukass, Jason Hill, Michael Parks, Adam and Tiffany Sterry, Krissy and Ryan Norberg, John and Lori Hand, and Sonja Briggs.
Nathan was predeceased by his brother, Timothy Roy Perreault, in 2005; maternal grandparents, Amelia and Clifford Bruyere; paternal grandfather, George Perreault; uncles, Leslie Bruyere in 2004, Keith Bruyere in 1972, Glen Bruyere in 1985, and Douglas Perreault in 1951; and his cousins, Robert Craig Strachan in 1973 and Logan Strachan in 2002.
Nathan served 12 years on the Couchiching First Nation Volunteer Fire Department and was the deputy fire chief for more than three years.
Nathan was born in Fort Frances, Ont. but moved to Hinton, Alta. when he was five years old. He attended Crescent Valley Elementary School and Gerald Redmond Roman Catholic School until Grade 8, when his family moved back to Fort Frances.
He graduated from Fort Frances High School and was a graduate of the Ontario Fire College in 1993.
Nathan’s favourite pastimes included fishing, billiards, and playing softball. Nathan enjoyed improving his family’s home and watching his children grow.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching, with the rosary being prayed at 10:45 a.m.
A funeral mass followed at 11 a.m., with Fr. Francis Pudicherry and Deacon Elmer Mainville officiating. Lunch was served in the church basement following mass.
Cremation took place in Bemidji, Mn.
Interment will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at Couchiching First Nation at a later date.
The pallbearers were Michael Parks, Ron Haukass, Jason Hill, Christine Jourdain, Uncle Glenn Jourdain, and Michelle Strachan.
The honourary pallbearers were all of the members of the Couchiching First Nation Volunteer Fire Department.
