Nancy Lavigne (nee Christiansen), 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at the Littlefork Care Center in Littlefork, Mn.
Nancy was born July 2, 1918 to John and Anna Christiansen at Mulvihill, Man.
Nancy’s early career took her to Toronto, Ont. to work for the Parker Pen Company. From there, she moved to Los Angeles to work and live near her sister.
Later in life, she moved back to International Falls, Mn.
Nancy was always a joy to visit with her unique humour and wit, and always was happy to see and welcome all members of her family.
She also loved her sports, particularly baseball and hockey.
Nancy is survived by her brothers, Walter Christiansen of Fort Frances, Ont. and John Ernest Christiansen of Nanaimo, B.C.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, John and Anna Christiansen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry (Ingrid), Harold (Gurlie), Robert (Irene), and George (Margaret); sister, Alphild; sisters-in-law, Nettie and Florence; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Inga (Eric) Pearson, Edith (Albert) Berg, and Donna Mae (Arne) Little.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont.
