NANCY MARTIN

Nancy (Shantz) Martin, of Stratton, Ont., passed away peacefully at home to her heavenly reward on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and nine days, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born July 24, 1936 in Lexington, Ont. to Levi and Melinda Shantz.
She gave her heart to the Lord in her youth and was a faithful member of the Pineview Mennonite Church in Barwick, Ont. at the time of her passing.
She was united in marriage to Walter M. Martin on May 23, 1956. They enjoyed just over 59 years together.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, Walter, of Stratton, Ont., and 15 children, Jane Krahn of Stratton, Ont., Carl (Nancy) of Stratton, Ont., Gary (Faith) of Danskin, B.C., Lyle (Rebecca) of Browerville, Mn., Timothy (Donna) of Stratton, Ont., Judy (Glenn) Heatwole of Hitchins, Ky., Dennis (Carolyn) of Harriston, Ont., Steven (Nettie) of Vienna, Ont., James (Sharilyn) of Cove, Ore., Kevin (Joanna) of Stratton, Ont., Daniel (Loretta) of Danskin, B.C., Sharon (Darrell) Martin of Mine Centre, Ont., Eunice (Murray) Martin of Madoc, Ont., Arlene (Jonathan) Metzler of Austin, Man., and Rhoda (Daryl) Meck of Stratton, Ont.
She also is survived by 120 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren; brother, Urias (Martha) Shantz; sister, Annie Gingrich; and three sisters-in-law, Almeda, Edith, and Anne.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Melvin (Alice), Noah, Orvie, and Aden; brother-in-law, Abner Gingrich; son-in-law, Ben Krahn; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Barwick Hall, with interment in Pineview Cemetery.
