NANCY DITTARO PAULL

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Nancy Dittaro on August 13, 2025.

Nancy was born April 19, 1954, in Fort Frances, Ont., to Mary Lou and Angelo Dittaro. She loved swimming and spent her summers working as a Lifeguard at the Point. As a mother she made sure that her children were strong swimmers as well. In High School she was referred to as “A Blonde Bombshell” which is a testament to her beauty and style and making sure she always looked her best. Nancy loved her antiques and spent many hours refinishing furniture and she was proud of every piece. Growing up she really enjoyed cars and going fast, which would explain her thrill in watching her son and grandson race. She enjoyed traveling anywhere she could, especially with her daughter and granddaughter.

Nancy met the love of her life, Garnet Paull, in 1980, and she and her daughter Terra soon became a beautiful blended family with Garnet’s children Carrie, Kristine and Curtis. A year later they welcomed a new addition to the family, their son Gavin. They loved all five children deeply.

Nancy had an extremely strong work ethic and no matter what job she had she gave her 100 percent. She worked at Green’s Furniture for many years until she started her career at our local pulp and paper mill. She worked in Human Resources and loved everything about her job, especially the staff and her fellow co-workers, Caron, Wendy, Sheri and Janice to name a few. When the mill closed she wasn’t quite ready for retirement so she decided to work at Betty’s part-time to keep busy. She really enjoyed organizing the store, chatting with customers and had a great relationship with her co-workers. She was also probably their best customer.

Nancy loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their sporting events from hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball and her favourite dirt track racing. She was so proud of each and every one of them. After Garnet’s passing Nancy kept a very close and special bond with all five children and their families. She loved family gatherings with all of them and the Blanc family together. Nancy also enjoyed her time with her Dittaro cousins, having lunches and playing cards. She spent a lot of time with her girlfriends Max, Denise and Ellen having dinner, attending Lakers games and shopping together.

We will miss her kind heart, spicy tongue and her generous nature. She loved life and all of those around her.

She was predeceased by her husband Garnet Paull; parents Marie Louise and Angelo Dittaro; her sister Nicki Hum; her son-in-law Todd Baker; and her grandchildren Lindsay and Ryan; as well as her brothers-in-law Morley Paull, Gary Paull; and her sisters-in-law Winnie Paull, Florence Paull and Sharon Bertrand.

She is survived by her children Terra Haines (Barry), Gavin Paull (Joëlle), Carrie Baker, (Jason), Kristine Brown (Greg), Curtis Paull (Saveria); grandchildren Aprille, Garrett, Jett, Joel, Jared (Micaela), Jessie (Doug), Seneca (Nick), Spencer (Sydney), Riley (Erik) and Jake; and her seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Pat Dittaro; brothers-in-law Phil Hum, Ron Paull, Roger Bertrand; and sister-in-law Beverly Paull; and her many nieces and nephews.

In the wishes of Nancy there will be no service but a small private gathering for friends and family. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Emo Speedway.
