With great sadness we announce the passing of Murray L. Caldwell (Papa), 75, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Monday, May 21, 2018 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Murray was born on May 12, 1943 in Bristol, N.B. to Murray and Mary Ellen Caldwell.
He was united in marriage to Leona Logue in Bristol on Dec. 23, 1964.
Murray served in the Canadian Navy on the HMCS Bonaventure from 1962-73. After his service, he became an aircraft engineer, working both in Canada and as far away as Bangladesh and India.
His knowledge and gritty sense of humour where known by many.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy; parents, Murray and Mary Ellen; and siblings, Eva Mae, Lorraine, and Keith.
Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Leona; children, Kim (Brady) and Jason (Lisa); grandchildren, Cody (Sam), Ryann, Maren, Blaine (Stacey), Jorja, Piper, Linnea, and Lori; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Mya, and Keira.
Murray also is survived by his brother, Andrew (Alice); sister, Beth (Harold); brother-in-law, Charles; sister-in-law, Anne (Chris); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of fellowship was held Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at the East End Hall (1227 5th St. E.) in Fort Frances.
