MURRAY GORDON JEWETT

Murray G. Jewett, 67, of Emo, Ont., passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Murray was born Feb. 15, 1941 to the late Lyle and Gennieve Jewett of North Branch, Ont. and was one of nine children.
He attended the North Branch School, and worked as a logger for a time before taking up the trade as brick layer, working in the communities of Atikokan, Nestor Falls, and Fort Frances.
He also was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Marlene Wood of Atikokan, Ont., Norman (Donna) Jewett of Rainy River, Ont., Sharon (Bert) LaFlock of Haywood, Man., Carol Pollard of Fort Frances, Ont., Ernie Jewett of Dryden, Ont., Marjorie (Howard) Haw of North Branch, Ont., and Paul (Carolynn) Jewett of Dryden, Ont.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Murray was predeceased by his parents, Lyle and Gennieve; brother, Ronald; and brother-in-law, Clinton Wood.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment took place in Pine Ridge Cemetery in North Branch.
The pallbearers were Dale Jewett, Neil Haw, Jason Jewett, Barry Pollard, Wayne Carlson, David LaFlock and Mike Karney.
The honourary pallbearers were Murray’s nieces and nephews.
