Jeanne Pollard, 66, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Feb. 1, 2003 after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 24, 1936 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Carl and Muriel Thesenvitz.
Jeanne grew up and attended school in Fort Frances. On March 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Pollard, who survives, along with their children, Derek of Fort Frances, Ont., Guy (Tannis) of Kenora, Ont., and Rhonda (Duane) Dewar of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and grandchildren, Justin and Jamie of Atikokan, Ont., Sabrina of Winnipeg, Man., Brent and Hannah Beth of Kenora, Ont., and David and Dylon of Thunder Bay, Ont.
She also is survived by sisters, Joyce (Roy) Zub and Hazel Strain of Fort Frances, Ont., and Lorraine (John) Ponse of Gold River, B.C.; and brothers, Garry (Mary) Thesenvitz of Red Lake, Ont., and Dayton (Doris) Thesenvitz of Lacombe, Alta.
She also is survived by brother-in-law, Murray (Marg) Pollard of Fort Frances, Ont.; sister-in-law, Shelbey (Larry) Benoit of Morden, Man.; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents; mother-in-law, Ida Pollard and father-in-law, Archie Pollard; brother-in-law, Walter Strain; nephew, Kevin Wright; and niece, Tracy Zub.
Jeanne was at one time employed at Dorothy’s Ladies Wear. Her favourite pastimes were bowling and camping on Lake of the Woods.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at Knox United Church on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
