MONA EVELYN TOMPKINS

Mona Evelyn Tompkins, 90, of Emo, Ont., passed away Saturday, March 14, 1998 at the Emo Hospital in Emo. She was born April 30, 1907 in Emo.
Mrs. Tompkins had lived in Emo all her life. She was a member of the Knox United Church in Emo, and was a member of the Rainbow Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and loved her flower garden.
Mona was united in marriage Dec. 30, 1925 to Russell, who predeceased her Oct. 6, 1965. She also was predeceased by her parents, William and Eleanor Draper; and grandson, Gary Tompkins in 1982.
She is survived by one son, Edward G. Tompkins and wife, Helen, of Emo, Ont.; and one daughter, Reta Fay Miller and husband, Harry, of Winnipeg, Man.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Russell Miller, John Paul Miller, Lisa Hill, Betty Ann Brown, Edward J. Tompkins, Cindy Lou Jewett, and Rodney L. Tompkins; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating. Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery in Emo.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Miller, John Paul Miller, Edward J. Tompkins, and Rodney L. Tompkins.
