With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Mildred Myers-Ricci, 83, of Rainy River, Ont., on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at the Rainy River Health Centre.
Millie was born on July 11, 1933 in Alonsa, Man. to Alexander and Cathelene Cardno.
She was a very generous person and always involved in the community activities in which she lived. Millie was very talented in baking bread and buns, and her talent will be remembered fondly by many.
She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Millie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lenard of Rainy River, Ont.; her children, Jim (Eileen) Myers of Shoal Lake, Man., Ruth (Garry) McAulay of Carman, Man., and Tom (Kathy) Myers of Miami, Man.; and stepchildren, Donald (Lou) Ricci, Christine (Gary) Armstrong, and Corey (Darryl) Dyck, all of Rainy River, Ont., John (late Cindy) Ricci of Edmonton, Alta., Brad (Marilyn) Ricci of Atikokan, Ont., Karen Ricci (Gordon Craig) of Winnipeg, Man., and Marty (Randy) Ricci of Page, Ariz.
She also is survived by her siblings, Jean Dunn (Leo Dozois) and Dorothy Gillies; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, Dick Myers; and sister, Helen Boberg.
A service of celebration and remembrance was held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Rainy River Evangelical Covenant Church, with Pastor Brad Ricci officiating.
Interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery in Belmont, Man. at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers were grandchildren, Jeff McAulay, Mike McAulay, Kristen Myers, Abigail Myers, Mellissa Myers, Michelle Myers, and Kevin Myers.
