MILDRED DYKE

It is with profound sadness that the family of Mildred Pearl Dyke, 70, of Fort Frances, Ont. announce her sudden passing on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at the La Verendrye General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mildred was born on March 13, 1947, in Fogo Island, Nfld. She spent the first 23 years of her life there, then moved to Mississauga, Ont., where she spent a majority of the years after.
Almost 10 years ago, she made Fort Frances her home. She joined the United Pentecostal Church (The Apostolic Way) after, and found a second family. There she found many wonderful friends and strengthened her relationship with God.
The church was a huge part of her life until the very end. Mildred had many, many friends in and out of the church who loved, and still do love her deeply.
She will live forever in the hearts of several friends, including Sharon, Karen, Brenda, Caroline, Bernie.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Gladys; her husband, John; sister, Elsie; brothers, Leslie, Raymond and Cyril.
She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Betty); her children, John (Niki) Beverly (Glenn), and Kimberly; her grandchildren, Kelly, Ryllie (Kristina), Natasha, Gaige, Nicholas, Alyssa and Ryan; and her great-granddaughter, Ainsley.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service of celebration and remembrance on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church on 324 Victoria Ave. in Fort Frances with Derwin Derkson officiating.
