Michael Lin Boileau, 54, passed away peacefully at Moose Jaw Union Hospital in Moose Jaw, Sask. on Friday, Dec. 11, 1998 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Lincolnshire, England on Oct. 31, 1944. Michael was the eldest child of Lin and Jean Boileau of Fort Frances, Ont.
Michael lived and worked most of his life in Northwestern Ontario up until 1996, when he took up residence in Moose Jaw. Although he lived in Saskatchewan, he continued to work during the summer months on Lake of the Woods.
He is fondly remembered as an avid outdoorsman, and mostly his love for fishing with family and friends. He loved to spend time with friends and family members, and could always be counted on for a humorous story or joke.
Michael was predeceased by his sister, Jocelyn, and brother, Louis.
Michael will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife, Tammy and son, Matthew; sons, Mark (Marsha) Boileau and Rene (Sherry) Boileau; parents, Lin and Jean Boileau; brother, Paul (Heather) Boileau; sisters, Anne (Alan) Zucchiatti, Dorese (Roger) Harrison, Giselle (Brian) Calder, and Andrea (Jim) Avis; sister-in-law, Marjorie Boileau; grandchildren, Andrew and Abby Boileau; and by all nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation has taken place in Moose Jaw, Sask.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998 at 2 p.m., followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Research).
