Melvin Sinclair, 74, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, April 16, 1999 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born on July 24, 1924 in Rainy River, Ont., to the late William and Lottie Sinclair.
Melvin moved to Fort Frances during the late 1950’s. He had worked as a commercial fisherman for Gib Tucker for many years, and had also worked in the bush.
He was predeceased by six brothers; John, Tom, Bob, Gordon, Norman, and George; and by three sisters; Violet, Katie, and Myrtle.
Melvin is survived by three sisters; Florence Adams of Int’l. Falls, Mn., Ella McMahon, and Lillian and husband Gib Tucker all of Fort Frances, Ont.; one brother, Ron Sinclair and wife Connie of Fort Frances, Ont.; two sisters-in-law Helen Sinclair and family, and Audrey Sinclair and family; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 19, 1999 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ont. Pastor Ken Johnson officiated with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Visitation was held prior to funeral services on Monday, at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers were Gary Adams, Jake Tucker, Gib Tucker Jr., Sydney Adams, Peter Adams and Tim Sinclair.
The honourary pallbearers were Clarence Jourdain, Ronald Adams, Gordon Adams and Brian Tucker.
