MELBA MAUREEN TURNER

It is with great sadness that we announce that Melba Maureen Turner passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Jeannie, in Vernon, B.C. on May 11, 2006 at the age of 88.
Melba was born in Australia but moved to England at the age of 14. She met her husband George during the war and moved to Canada. They started their life in Fort Frances, Ont. in 1946, where they raised six children.
Melba was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1967; daughter, Jaqui, in 1997; grandaughter, Cindy Kawulia in 1997; sister, Addie; brother, Sid; and two grandsons, Brandon Bushey, 2005 and Shilo Holdsworth, 2005.
She is survived by her sister, Mavis, of England; five children, Jean Bushey [David] of Vernon, B.C., Jill Kawulia of Fort Frances, Ont., Jon of Unionville, Janet Holdsworth [Vic] of Mississauga, Ont., and Jody of Vancouver, B.C.
She also is survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held June 24, 2006 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church.
