In loving memory of Melanie Mae Gate, 34, of Pahrump, Nev., who passed away there Friday, June 2, 2000.
She was born Aug. 4, 1965 in Kanab, Utah to Charles and Dorothy Gate. She has resided in Pahrump for the last six years, working at Terrible Town Casino.
She enjoyed being outdoor and spending time with nature. She was especially proud of her two children, Willie and Cody.
Melanie is survived by her two children, Willie and Cody Mason of Pahrump, Nevada; parents, Charles and Dorothy Gate of Morson, Ont.; brothers, Richard Gate and wife, Natalie, of Morson, Ont. and Dean Gate of Morson and friend Demaris Campbell of Mission, B.C.; nieces and nephews, Anna, Alison, Christopher and Ryan Gate, and Dana, Dean, and Mireya Gate.
She also is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, and many friends both in Pahrump and Morson.
Melanie was predeceased by her sister, Nicole, and grandparents, Charles and Mabel McNally and Cecil Gate.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Friday, June 9, 2000 at 1 p.m. with Jeff Fraser officiating, with interment in Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, ont.
Pallbearers were Edward Carlson, Tim Johnsrud, Stewart McNally, Rob Gate, Michael Gate, and Kent Gate.
Honourary pallbearers were all her cousins too numerous to name.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made in trust for Melanie’s children, Willie and Cody Mason, through any branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
