MATTHEW JOHN DRONYK

It is with profound heartache that the family of Matthew Dronyk announce his sudden passing on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Matthew was born on March 14, 1978, in Fort Frances, Ontario, to Terry and Nancy Dronyk (Nancy Johnston).

He grew up in Fort Frances but the mountains called to him. It was in the Glacier National Park mountains in Montana on August 3, 2019, where Matt and April exchanged their wedding vows. Mountain camping was a passion they shared.

Matthew had also developed a passion for paragliding and it was where he felt free and exhilarated.

He was also a talented carpenter and showed pride in his work. He was an amazing hockey player with phenomenal skills on the ice.

Matthew had a love of Harley Davidsons and could often be seen out and about and the pride he felt was clearly evident on his face.

In 2006, Matthew met the love of his life, April Bruyere, and together they became a family of four including himself, April, Hannah and Kale. In 2009, they welcomed daughter Shyloh. The love and adoration he had for Shyloh knew no bounds. His family was his greatest achievement.

Matthew was a true friend who would do whatever he could for family or friends with no questions asked. He was loyal, kind, and so very caring. Anyone that knew Matthew knew they’d have a friend for life.

Left to mourn are his wife April, his children Kale, Hannah and Shyloh; his father Terry Dronyk; his mother Nancy Johnston (Alex); sister Tracy Mose (Dave); mother-in-law Fern Tookenay; father and mother-in-law Gilbert and Delia Smith; brothers-in-law Patrick, Don (Heidi), Vern Smith; sisters-in-law Tania, Val, Carla Smith (Josh Sutherland); sister-in-law Michelle Bruyere (Casey Adams); and the numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A wake will be held Friday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi-use facility with Elder Tommy Councillor performing a ceremony.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Couchiching Multi-use facility. A luncheon to follow.

Pallbearers are Dave Mose, Jordan Mose, Brad Hill, Jason Kuiack, Paul Zrum, Brock Madill, Matt Berti, and Sam Bruyere.
