Mary Elizabeth Kingerski
1922-2006
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Kingerski, 84, announce her peaceful passing on Friday, September 29, 2006 in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Mary was born on January 31, 1922 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late Michael & Sophia Duchnicki.
She married the love of her life, Nick Kingerski, on September 11, 1946.
Mary worked many years at the Rijnol China and Gift Shop and at Fort Floral. Mary enjoyed many years of traveling, camping and attending polka fests with Nick. She was an avid card player with family as well as friends at the Sister Kennedy Centre. Her family get-togethers were very special times for Mary. Cooking, baking, gardening and knitting afghans fi lled her days with much enjoyment.
Mary was a member of the CWL and La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary. Her birthday club friendships meant alot to her.
Mary was very close to her family whom she dearly loved and they will miss her very much.
She was predeceased by her husband Nick on June 22, 2001. Mary is survived by her daughter Barb and husband Don Koczkur of Thunder Bay, son Don Kingerski and wife Judy of Winnipeg, seven grandchildren–Sherry Watt (Doug), Stacey Donais (Grant), Shawn Langtry (Justin), Erin Kingerski (Donnie), Betsy ffrench (Ryan), Chrissy Kingerski (Jeff) and Nick Kingerski.
There are six great-grandchildren–Hunter Donais, Thomas and Kenton Watt, Julia and Alexandra Marr, and Hannah ffrench. She is survived by two brothers–Walter (Kaye) Duchnicki, John (Lena) Duchnicki and sister Emelia (Nick) Mutz.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances. Father Francis Pudicherry offi ciated with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Frances. Visitation and prayers took place on Monday evening at Green Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Nick Kingerski, Shawn Langtry, Grant Donais, Doug Watt, Ryan ffrench, and Donnie Paille. Honourary pallbearers were Anna McNay, Beatrice Lambert, Madelyn Manley, Della Baraniuk, Leda Frenette, Nellie Shybyski, Mary Badiuk, Ann Grabowski, Clara Badiuk, Polly Wilcox and Ann Guzzi.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Nugent, the nurses of St. Andrew’s Ward, and Father Francis for their loving care and support.
