MARY DOROTHY FADYK

Mary Dorothy Fadyk, 70, of International Falls, Mn., passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 5, 2003 in Mesa, Ariz.
She was born April 14, 1932 in Winnipeg, Man. She then moved to Fort Frances, Ont., where Dorothy was raised and went to grade school.
She was united in marriage to Steve Fadyk on Oct. 2, 1949. Soon after, the newlywed couple moved to International Falls.
In addition to being a homemaker, Dorothy worked at the Koochiching County Welfare Office for many years. She enjoyed the work she did and took pride in helping others.
Following retirement, Dorothy summered in Minnesota and was an Arizona resident during the winter.
Throughout the summer months, Dorothy loved to spend time at her lake place. Gardening and working in the yard were favourite pastimes here. Plus, she enjoyed when friends and family came to stay at this beloved cabin.
Aside from the activities she loved at the cabin, she had many other passions in life that could be done anywhere. Dancing, knitting and crocheting, cooking and baking, and, ultimately, being with family and friends were her true happiness.
She loved spending time with the ones she cared for, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Anne; and her husband, Steve, of more than 50 years.
Survivors include her special friend, Curt Heaton; sons, Steve (Debra) of Mayer, Mn., and Michael (Norine) of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Steve, Nick, and Anne Fadyk, Michelle Fadyk, and Jacqueline, Nicole, and Brian Renberg; sister, Kay (Laurie) Veert; and brother, Ed (Nancy) Topolnicki.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls. Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
The family would prefer memorials to the American Heart Association or to St. Thomas Catholic Church.
