MARY CAROL BORDEN

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Carol Borden on Monday, July 19, 2010.
She passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, after a long, brave battle with cancer.
She will be remembered as a remarkable woman to all who have known her.
Mary was born Oct. 27, 1950 in Sherbrooke, Que. At the age of three, she was raised in Peekskill, N.Y. by Jeannie Desimone, who provided much love throughout her childhood.
After graduating high school in Peekskill, Mary obtained her paralegal credentials at college in Boston, Mass. From Boston she moved to Winnipeg, Man., and from there began working with Rod McLeod in 1984, where she continued to work and was actively engaged with many accomplishments for 26 years.
In 1991, Mary re-located with her work to Fort Frances, Ont. with her three beautiful daughters. Shortly after, Mary met the love of her life, Keith Perrault.
During the last 16 years, both Mary and Keith have enjoyed raising and watching their family grow.
Mary’s biggest pride was her family, and loved each one by providing them with what they needed. She especially loved and adored each and every one of her many grandchildren.
She was a very benevolent woman who was a great example of what humility is defined as. Some of Mary’s passion was mastering the art of cross-stitching, and her grandchildren proudly claim that she has read almost every single novel in the Fort Frances Public Library.
She was extremely delighted to host many family gatherings, where her family will forever cherish those happy memories. She also enjoyed spending time with Keith outdoors in the relaxing atmosphere of Rainy Lake.
Mary also was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Fort Frances.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Keith Perrault; her children, Denise (Kevin) Audette, Amanda (Ian) Perreault, and Christine Borden (Troy Woolsey); step-children, Derek (Ali) Perrault, Rick (Sherry) Perrault, Nicole (Carlo) Jourdain, and Dawn (Toby) Jourdain; and daughter-in-law, Amber (Fern) Bollenbach.
Her numerous grandchildren include (from oldest to youngest) Arizona, Jordan, Robyn, Chelsea, Shania, Alexis, Kirah, Mercedes, Austin, Dylon, Christian, Summer, Trinidy, Kaidence, Naudia, Logan, Alex, Alicia, Travis, Harlow, Clara, and Claire.
Also surviving is Mary’s sister, Lois (Jack) Garneau, who resides in Quebec, and brother, Gerald (Gloria) Gilbert, who resides in Ottawa, Ont.
Mary was predeceased by her biological parents, Lucius and Verda Gilbert; and step-son, Preston Perrault.
Mary was cared for, loved by, and will be sadly missed by many close friends too numerous to list.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship Church, with Pastor Marcel Chenier officiating.
At Mary’s request, cremation will take place.
A private ceremony also will take place at a later date determined by family.
The pallbearers will be Kevin Audette, Ian Perreault, Troy Woolsey, Derek Perrault, Rick Perrault, and Lew Kempf.
The honourary pallbearers will be Rod McLeod, Dale Geurts, and Al Hunter.
In memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, P.O. Box 444, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8 or c/o Green Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
