MARY BROWMAN-SANDUL

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Browman-Sandul on Friday, Aug. 21, 1998 in Crescent City, Cal. with her son at her side.
Mary was born April 3, 1919 and grew up in Ray, Mn. She later moved to International Falls, Mn. and then to Crescent City. She spent the last 15 years in Fort Frances, Ont., spending her winters in Crescent City.
Mary was a very loving and caring person with a heart of gold. She treasured her friendships with her family, friends, and neighbours, and always looked forward to gathering with them. She so enjoyed her nine-year-old grandson Harlan’s devotion to her, reading her stories and keeping her company.
She was always ready for a good game of cribbage, and had a lot of fun over the years playing this game. She also loved travelling, and took many wonderful trips to many interesting places around the world.
Mary was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, the Grace Lutheran Church in Crescent City, the Runeiberg Lodge, the Moose Lodge, and the Ray Birthday Club.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur I. Browman, in 1981; and her daughter, Sally Ann Browman-Mankin, in 1996.
She is survived by her son, James Browman, wife, Jeanie, and grandson, Harlan, of Crescent City, who lovingly cared for her during the last five months of her life; grandchildren, Mary, Paul, Jennifer, and Jonathan Mankin of California; stepdaughter, Susan Sandul of Whitney, Ont.; and locally, niece, Karen Morrison, husband, Bill, Chantal, Bill Jr., Tara, and Amber-Lyn of Fort Frances, Ont., and niece, Deb Ciminski, and husband, Randy, Annie, Liz, and Erika of International Falls, Mn.
She also is survived by other nieces and nephews in the U.S.
A private funeral service will be held in Crescent City.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made to the hospice, Sutter Coast Home Care, 983 Third St., Crescent City, Cal., 95531. Or if people wish to contact the family, the address is Mr. and Mrs. James Browman and Harlan, 241 West 6th St., Crescent City, Cal. 95531.
“Dearest Auntie: A beautiful and precious rose has died on Earth, only to bloom once again in Heaven. The last few months have not been kind–may you now be at peace. We will miss you so. Your loving niece, Karen.”
