MARY ANDRUSCO

With great sadness we announce that Mary Andrusco passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2005 with her daughters Leda and Julie by her side at Rainycrest Home for the Aged.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Walter; children Leda Beck (Freddie), Billy Andrusco, and Julie Andrusco; five grandchildren, Mary Ann, Joanna, Sarah, Jennifer and Billy Joe; and one great grandchild Olivia; sister Jennie (Stan) Sockolotuk; sisters-in-law Stella Andrusco, Mary (Nick) Andrusco, Elva Ossachuk; brother-in-law, Nick Wihnan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, George and Bill; and sister, Olga.
Mary was born Sept. 4, 1917 in Canora, Sask. She moved to Fort Frances in 1922 and was united in marriage to her husband Walter in 1935. She has been a lifelong member of St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Ukrainian Literary Society, the church choir and St. Anna’s Club. She may well be remembered by many as a hostess at the Rainy Lake Hotel where she was employed for 15 years.
Thank you Mom, for making God the centre of our lives, for your never ending prayers, for your unconditional love, and your example of strength and faith.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home. Father Michael Kopchuk officiated followed by interment in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends visited with the family on Tuesday evening, May 3 from 7 until 8 p.m. with Praish Prayers being held at 7:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers were Michael Andrusco, Peter Andrusco, Roger Dolyny, Joe King, Bill Wepruk and Paul Wepruk.
