MARTHA ANITA (HARTLIN) ALLAN

Martha Anita (Hartlin) Allan passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005 at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1923 in La Vallee Township to the late Marcus and Amy Hartlin. Martha was raised in Dance Township (a survivor of the Dance fire).
Following her marriage to Ross Allan, they resided in Devlin, Ont. for 40 years, moving to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1989 until her death.
Martha was a very talented lady. She was a seamstress, writer, and painter; she enjoyed making crafts and special homemade preserves. Her specialties were hand-knit personalized Christmas stockings for the great-grandchildren and homemade apple jelly from her backyard tree, which she gave to family and friends.
She was a member of the Fort Frances branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Martha is survived by three sons, Leonard (Charon), Roy (Lynda), and Dennis (Marilou), all of Devlin, Ont.; and one daughter, Marjory Boileau of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Sabrina Scott of Keewatin, Ont.; brother, Judson Hartlin of Emo, Ont.; and sister-in-law, Mary Hartlin of Saskatchewan; along with numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ross, in 1993; brother, Willie Hartlin; son-in-law, Louis Boileau; sister-in-law, Hilda Hartlin; and brother-in-law, William Scott.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
Interment will take place at the Devlin Cemetery in Devlin at a later date.
Honourary pallbearers were her grandchildren, Ernie, David, Lenny, Mark, Micheal, Jason, Robert, Danny, Tammy, Tracy, Dana, Cheri, and Zoe.
