Marlene Margaret Gagne (nee McMillan), 66, of Atikokan Ont., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 with her family by her side.
Marlene was born Nov. 26 1948 in Emo, Ont.
A long-time resident of Atikokan, she was united in marriage to Daniel Gagne on Sept. 30, 1967. They raised three beautiful children, Debra (Greg) Alexander, Nicole Gagne (Larry Brant), and Daniel (Jen) Gagne.
Also surviving are her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Amy, Jillian, Victoria, and Dalton Alexander, Jason and Melissa Brant, and Matthew, Madison, and Jorja Gagne; brother, Eric McMillan (Greg, Jodie, and Natalee); sister, Janice (Wayne) Bingham (Mark, Nicole, Marni, and Joel); and brother, James (Carol) McMillan (Mark).
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Meta McMillan; and her identical twin sister, Jean Elizabeth McMillan.
Marlene worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources from 1966-2009, enjoying various job titles.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary for 45 years, holding numerous positions, the latest being Provincial Vice-President of Manitoba-Northwest Ontario Command.
Her passions in life were her family, and spending time at Factor Lake.
Marlene has been cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #145 in Atikokan.
The honourary pallbearers will be Wayne Bingham, Ed Kennedy, Greg Alexander, Larry Brant, and Dan Warren.
