MARK ANNESS

Mark Ivan Anness, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, with family by his side, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Mark was born Dec. 13, 1942 in Fort Frances, Ont. and lived his entire life in Northwestern Ontario.
Mark was employed as a mining engineer and surveyor at various mines in the area during his working years, and had a lifelong enjoyment of fishing, hunting, and all other areas of outdoor recreation with his family.
Mark was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and served his community as president and longtime member of the Ear Falls Lions Club.
Mark is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margaret; children Donna (David), Laura (Jeff), and Neil (Coralyn); four step-daughters, Susan, Brenda (Larry), Sandra, and Tammy (Alain); 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sister, Karen; sister-in-law, Evelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark was predeceased by his mother, Eileen; father, Ivan; and brother, Wayne.
He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Silver Tops Senior Centre, 300 Pine St., Ignace, Ont.
Should friends so desire, in memoriam donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Northern Cancer Centre, Tamarack House, Thunder Bay, Ont.
