Marjorie Neilson, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at her residence in Emo, Ont. with her husband, William (Moie), by her side.
Marjorie was born in Burriss Township, Ont. to the late Roy and Edith Norris.
She was united in marriage to William (Moie) Neilson on Oct. 24, 1947. They settled on a farm in Sifton Twp, Ont., where they remained until 2005 upon moving to their new home in Emo.
She enjoyed her quilting and sewing, and helping on the farm with Moie. Marjorie also volunteered for many years with the local 4-H club.
Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Moie, of 61 years; and her children, Kurt (Terrie) Neilson of Calgary, Alta. and Sandy Neilson of Regina, Sask.
She also will be greatly missed by her grandsons, Mike Waugh and Jonathan Neilson; and great-grandsons, Justus and Tylan Waugh.
She also is survived by her brothers, Larry, Jimmy, and Lynn (Margaret) Norris; in-laws, Keith (Grace) Neilson, Thelma Hansen, Dixie Kivi, Katherine Neilson, Louise Neilson, Vivian Neilson, and Lyla Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Edith Norris; infant daughter, Maurene Neilson; brother, Harold Norris and sister, Norma Norris; and in-laws, Garnett, Art, and Carman Neilson, Walter Hansen, Bernice (Paul) Sisco, and Bob Kivi.
Family and friends were received Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, where funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place in Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont. at a later date.
Marjorie’s pallbearers were Mike Waugh, Jonathan Neilson, Colin Neilson, Ken Sisco, Darryl Hansen, and Jeff Hansen.
