Marjorie (Marge) Stuart, 86, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Marge was born Nov. 28, 1923 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late George and Mary Moir.
She had lived all her life in Rainy River District, where she spent her working years as a devoted school teacher.
Marge was a lifelong member of Knox United Church, and recently had received her lifetime membership with the La Verendrye General Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron in 1974-75.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, writing letters, and staying in touch with family and friends.
Marge is survived by three sisters-in-law, Shirley Stuart of Fort Frances, Ont., Teresa Stuart of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Pearl Scott of Winnipeg, Man.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Stuart; her parents, George and Mary Moir; sister, Anne Sisk; and brothers, Robert Moir and George “Kitchener” Moir.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
