MARJORIE ELAINE MORNEAU

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Elaine Morneau announce the peaceful passing of a feisty lady on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care with her daughter by her side.

Marge was born on October 9, 1929 in Densil, Saskatchewan to Domase and Viva Grouette. She spent her early years in Saskatchewan, moving to Fort Frances as a young teenager. It was here that she settled and was united in marriage to Emil James “Skinner” Morneau on March 2, 1957. Together they raised their two girls, Judy and Nancy and doted on their very much loved grandsons Jeremy and Brody. She worked at La Verendrye General Hospital for 18 years. After Skinner’s passing in 2003 Marge moved to Flinders Apartments. She enjoyed the comradery of her neighbours, spending many evenings playing cards, board games and having pot luck suppers.

She was predeceased by her parents Domase and Viva; husband Skinner; sisters Myrtle (Al) Salmonson, Matilda Selman and Muriel (Charlie) Bell; in-laws Joseph and Alma Morneau; brothers-in-law Adelard, Alfred (Joe) and Ed Morneau; and sisters-in-law Yvonne Loveland and Corrine Cross.

Marge will be greatly missed by her loving daughters Judy and husband Al Johnstone of Sioux Narrows, Ont. and Nancy and husband Ted Asselin of Fort Frances; grandsons Jeremy and Brody Asselin as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver Rhianna Flemming.

Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family interment will be held.

If friends so desire in memoriam donations may be made to the Riverside Health Care Foundation, 110 Victoria Avenue, Fort Frances, ON, P9A 2B7.
