On the 11th day of the 11th month, Marjorie Byrnes passed away peacefully at the Rainy River Health Centre Extended Care in Rainy River, Ont.
Marjorie was born Feb. 16, 1922 to Clarence and Ebba Pederson. She lived most of her life in Rainy River, with some time spent in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, and Calgary.
Predeceased by her loving husband, John Delaney Byrnes, in 2001, she leaves behind daughters, Kristen Dulac of Minneapolis, Mn., Sisanne Marquardt of Toronto, Ont., and Donna Haglund of Oregon; brothers, Rey Pederson and wife, Agnes, of Montana, and Hillery Pederson of Guelph, Ont.; grandchildren, Chantal Devane, Mark DuLac, and Jay Stapleton; and great-grandchildren, Alec, Peyton, and Delaney-Grace.
Marjorie persevered through times with magnificent determination. She raised her three daughters as a single mother from 1959-71, working at The Foodway and later at the local CIBC.
Marjorie also was a member of the United Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends in the common room of the extended care unit at the Rainy River Health Centre on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at 2 p.m.
