It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marion Venne, age 89 of Emo, Ont. on November 9, 2020.
Marion was born on September 7, 1931 in Emo to Violet and Albert Strachan, the middle child of three girls. She stayed close to her place of birth her entire life.
On October 27, 1948 she married Art Venne and started her family of five children, three girls and two boys. Marion was fiercely dedicated to her family and made many sacrifices to ensure their welfare.
Marion was a self taught book keeper for Art’s trucking company. She also maintained a hobby farm that started out with cattle, pigs and chickens but expanded to a whole list of other types of animals over the years.
Marion loved music, especially Elvis Presley and there was always music playing in the house when we were growing up. There was always a jigsaw puzzle on the go in the dining room, the bigger the better. She loved flowers and her gardens full of a variety of different solar lights. Feeding and bird watching was another hobby. She also loved reading, especially murder mysteries. This she maintained with audio books in recent years.
Marion leaves behind her children Don, Lois, Garry (Diane) of Emo and Lucille (John) of Kenora, Ont.; grandchildren William, Lynette, Robert (April), Michelle (Curtis), Michael, Nicole (Dan), Tina (Dave), Jason (Katie), Matthew (Kaylene); and great-grandchildren Heather, Zack, Makayla, Abigail, Liam, Alex, Aubrey, Lukas and Maisy. Also surviving are her sisters Helen Pamer and Grace (Fred) Angus.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Art and daughter Lynn; parents Violet and Albert; bother-in-law James Pamer, son-in-law Guy Simmons and daughter-in-law Pat Venne.
