With great sorrow, the family announces the sudden passing of Marion Laura Bazylewski, 69, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Marion was born Oct. 5, 1946 in Stonewall, Man. to Harry and Inga Bazylewski.
She is survived by her mother, Inga; siblings, Fred Bazylewski (Charlene), Walter Bazylewski, Joyce Hall (Alan), Doug Bazylewski (Kelly), Debbie Bazylewski, and Donna Patenaude; brother-in-law, Keith Munro; sister-in-law, Margaret Bazylewski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by her father, Harry Bazylewski; partner, Fred Williamson; sister, Betty Jean Munro; brother, Kenneth Bazylewski; and infant sister, Diane Bazylewski.
Marion had a passion for cooking and baking, and turned this into a lifelong career—first with her restaurant in Rainy River (The Borderland Cafe) and then The Makabi Inn restaurant in Fort Frances, where she stayed until her retirement.
Marion loved her Makabi Inn customers and fellow staff dearly, and often would reminisce about all her wonderful memories she had there throughout the years.
After retirement, Marion enjoyed spending time working on jigsaw puzzles with her mother and watching all the NASCAR races on the weekend.
As per her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
