Marietta (Mary) Emily Anderson, of Rainy River, Ont., peacefully passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 1, 2007 in her 90th year.
Mom was born in Wabash, Ont. on July 25, 1917 to Charles and Florence Taylor. At an early age, she moved to Shenston Township. It was there she was married to Carl Anderson on Oct. 19, 1937.
She and Carl moved to McKenzie Island in 1954, where they and their family resided until 1970, when she and Carl moved to Fort Frances, Ont.
Later, she resided at the Morley Manor in Stratton, Ont. until taking up residence in the Rainy River Health Centre’s long-term care unit in the early 2000s.
Mary is survived by her three sons, Andy (Andrew) (Donna) of McKenzie Island, Ont., Mel of Terrace, B.C., and Ken (Dinah) of Camp Morton, Man. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Juanita (Joe), Michelle (Jim), Carl (Cory), Sherri (Andrew), Bonnie, and Eric (Heather); and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Florence Taylor; her loving husband, Carl on April 24, 1976; an infant daughter in 1940; and two brothers, Russell and Gerald.
Cremation has taken place.
A family graveside service at the Chapple Cemetery in Barwick will take place at a later date.
