Peacefully, on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, Marguerite Woodbury passed away at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Man. with family by her side at the age of 84.
Marg is survived by her children, Wayne, Elizabeth (Clyde), Debbie (Marcel), and Alice; granddaughters, Corrie (Mark) and Tanis (Bert); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Joshua, Sarah, and Isabelle; and siblings, Terry, Litton, Pat, and Mel.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dave; and brother, Ben.
Marg was born in Fisher Branch, Man. on Aug. 2, 1923. She later moved to Winnipeg with her family, where she met her future husband, Dave.
She worked during the war making airplane parts. After the war, she married Dave. They moved to Kenora, then later to Fort Frances, Ont., where they raised their family.
Marg enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and spending time at her son’s cottage. Once her children were grown, she went to work at the Royal Canadian Legion as a bartender, where she remained until her retirement.
She was very active in the Ladies’ Auxillary and the Legion. Once ill health beheld her, she had to give up her independence and moved to Ste. Anne to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Nine months later, she moved to Villa Youville, where she remained until her passing.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances. A private family internment will follow.
