MARGUERITE HUSSER

We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Marguerite Husser, at the age of 79.
She was born May 3, 1934 in Bischholtz, France to the late Catherine (Froehlich) and Michel Jung.
At a young age, she experienced first-hand the ravages of World War II, which left many sad memories.
Being an only child, Marguerite had to help with the farm work from an early age. As a result, farming was in her blood and she remained actively involved in the farm happenings to the end.
In 1958, she met our dad, Jacques Husser, and they were married on Oct. 22, 1960. They lived on the farm in Bischholtz until 1983, when the entire family moved to Canada and purchased a farm north of Barwick.
When she was 22 years old, Mom surrendered her life to Christ and accepted His forgiveness for her sins. She dedicated her life to Jesus, her Savior.
Her life would hold many joys, but also hardships and difficulties. Instead of turning bitter, however, these trials strengthened her resolve, deepened her faith, and allowed her to be compassionate toward others.
Mom had a heart for others and was very generous. Many hours were spent knitting various clothing items, which she then sent to those less fortunate in other countries.
She always showed compassion and concern for children, especially orphans, and sought to help out where she could.
Mom also enjoyed cooking and just loved baking. Many people around her have benefited from this talent. She was a very kind and caring person.
Her flowers were another passion for Mom. She tended to them with great care, and really enjoyed surrounding herself with a variety of colours and lively blooms each spring and summer.
Mom also enjoyed the company of her many friends, both in Canada and from overseas. Despite the language barrier in this country, she impacted many people around her with a ready smile, a caring heart, and a listening ear.
Her granddaughters were the joy of her life, and she delighted in making various treats for them, spending time with them, and teaching them her native language.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jacques, in 1995; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Helene) Husser.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Mark, Elisabeth, and Anne-Marie, together with husband, Matthias Marx. Her three granddaughters, Juliana, Sophia, and Ziporah, also miss their dear grandma.
Marguerite also is survived by her in-laws, Paul (Lydie) Husser and Marcel Husser; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were invited to join Marguerite’s family on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo, Ont. for a funeral service.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
“Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
