Peacefully, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont., Margaret Brookes of Emo, Ont. passed away at the age of 69.
Margaret was born in Fort Frances on July 10, 1939 to the late Emil and Alice Richert (nee Brigden).
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John Ross Brookes of Emo, Ont.; sons, Bill ( Sylvia) Richert of Bolton, Ont., Jim Paxman of Toronto, Ont., and Larry (Caroline) Paxman of Montreal, Que.; and daughters, Ivy Lynn (Jim) Kewell of Barrie, Ont. and Peggy Sue (Greg) Dufresne of North Bay, Ont.
Margaret will sadly missed by her grandchildren, Darren, Chris, Ryan, Kayla, Michelle, Jamie, Carrie Anne, Tammy, Travis, Tyler, Adam, and Cody; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Chloe. She was the dear stepmother of Danny Brookes, David (Marrianne) Brookes, and Jeff ( Janyce) Brookes, and nephew, Larry (Jeanie) Brookes.
She also is survived by her sister, Evelyn Hughes; brothers, Dennis (Linda) and David Richert; aunts, Rita Desgroseilliers and Lorraine (Gerald) Bullied; uncles, Ken Lockman and Willard Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends were received at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 from 7- 9 p.m., where service was held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Dan Debano officiating.
Cremation to follow.
The pallbearers were Larry Paxman, Jim Paxman, Bill Richert, Larry Brookes, Jamie Kewell, and Chris Thompson.
