MARGARET ROSE WALKEY

Margaret Rose Walkey, 71, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Facility in Fort Frances.
She was born June 8, 1939 in Owen Sound, Ont. to the late David Gladstone and Mildred (nee Taylor) Walkey.
The family moved to Fort Frances in 1945, settling in the west end and opening the Walkey Corner Store by Alexander MacKenzie School.
Following the death of her parents, Margaret moved into the Front Street Manor and then later to Rainycrest. She loved her time there. She was an active member of the council and took part in all the activities, as well as chatting with the many people who came by.
Margaret also enjoyed travelling, especially the cruises she took with family.
Margaret will be missed by her many cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred, and father, David Gladstone.
At Margaret’s request, there will be no funeral service.
Cremation has taken place, and interment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances in the spring.
