MARGARET MARY McPHERSON

It is with great sorrow that the family of Margaret Mary McPherson announces her passing, with family by her side, on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Marg was born Aug. 18, 1965 in Mount Carmel, Nfld. to the late Francis and Veronica Power.
As a young woman, she moved to the Toronto, Ont. area. She later moved to Fort Frances, Ont. to be closer to her sister, Sarah, and her family.
Here she met the love of her life, Michael, and they were married on May 1, 1998. Later that year, they were blessed with their daughter, Yvonne.
Yvonne meant the world to Marg; her arrival made her life complete.
Marg loved to visit and chat with people. She waitressed for years at The Harbourage and enjoyed meeting all of her customers. She was the life of the party; she loved to go to the Legion to play darts and dance.
In 2006, Marg was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. This rare disease turned her world upside down, taking her away from the people and activities she loved.
She leaves behind her husband, Mike; daughter, Yvonne; stepchildren, Christy, Chelsey, Jonathan, and Chantelle; and siblings, Sarah (Michael) Gervais and their children, Jason (Cherish), Alina, and Dallas, David (Donna) Power and their children, Felica and Kandice, Francis and son, Frankie, Richard (Tonnie) and their children, Jillian, Richard, Ashley, and Kayla, Raymond and his children, Raymond and Michael, Elizabeth (Brian) Dobbin and their children, Myles and B.J., Mary (Clifford) Comerford and family, Mary Elizabeth, Clifford, Scott, Trent, Francis, and Diana, and Joseph Walsh and son, Adam.
Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Pat McPherson; brother-in-law, Pat McPherson and his children, Preston and Pamela; sister-in-law, Wendy McPherson and son, Leland; aunts, Jane Tokheim, Annie Power, and Florence Walsh; uncles, Peter (Elizabeth) Power and Joe Walsh; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; special friend, Donna Lynn Corcoran; and extended family.
Marg was predeceased by her parents, Veronica and Francis; sisters, Barbara and Yvonne; brother, William; and brother-in-law, David McPherson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Victor De Gagne officiating.
Cremation will take place, with a private family interment at a later date.
The pallbearers will be Dallas Gervais, Jason Gervais, Mel Larson, Brady Hupet, Steve Luoma, and Danny Bird.
The honorary pallbearers will be Randy Klem, Caroline Marcoux, Laureen Luchka, Marisa Payne, Larry Phillips, Connie Woods, and Raymond St. Hilaire.
