MARCELLA LOUISE FOURNIER

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marcella Louise Fournier on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Marcella was born Aug. 7, 1915 in Dearlock, Ont. to the late John and Adeline LeBlanc.
In her younger years, Marcella worked at various tourist camps in the Nestor Falls area. She later met Everett and was united in marriage to him on July 4, 1937. They made their home in Fort Frances and lived here all of their life.
In Fort Frances, she and her husband owned and operated the New Lunch Café, and later Marcella’s Café. Marcella also worked at the Clinic Pharmacy in town for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Royal Order of Purple in Fort Frances. For enjoyment, she really liked golfing, curling, and playing bridge with her friends.
Marcella is survived by her two sisters, Agnes Hyatt of Emo, Ont. and Yvonne Belton of Mill Valley, Calif.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dora Boudreau of Winnipeg, Man., Jacqueline (Virgil) Cousineau and Bertha (Joe) Ossachuk, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Beatrice (Gerald) Puchalski of Richmond, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Everett Fournier on July 13, 1995; daughter, Marvelle Fournier; siblings, Clarence LeBlanc, Clement LeBlanc (Iona), Lorraine Tompkins (Charles), Sylvia Gray (James), Adrianna LeBlanc, Leona Hannivan (George), and Leo LeBlanc (Polly); and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evangeline (Don) Almblad, and Alex, Adolphe, and Emile Fournier (Mary).
A memorial service to celebrate Marcella’s life was held at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11 a.m., with Mr. Larry LeBlanc officiating.
Interment took place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The honourary pallbearers were her nieces and nephews.
