Mae Josephine (Kady) Berglund of Kenora passed away at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Aug. 26, 2015 with her son, Ernie, daughter-in-law, Jeannine, and granddaughter at her side.
She was born in Fort Frances on Aug. 12, 1924 and was raised there.
She came to Kenora with her son, Ernie Godin, in 1961, where she met and married Arnie Berglund.
Kady was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma.
She loved visiting with her son and his family all over Ontario. She was especially grateful when her son moved back to the farm.
She enjoyed working and playing with her friends in Lac Lu, whether dancing, playing crib or cooking.
She also loved to travel with the Lac Lu Dancers all over the mid-United States and Canada.
She spent her last few years at Pinecrest Home, where she was loved and cared for.
Kady was predeceased by her husband, Arne Berglund; two sisters, Francine Williams and Alden Molnar; and one brother, George Allan.
She is survived by one son, Ernie (Jeannine) Godin; grandchildren, Chris (Rosey) Godin, Lori Godin, and Richard (Wanda) Godin; great-grandchildren, Rhys, Hanna, Madison, Alyson, Mia and Noah; two sisters, Beatrice (Don) Galbraith and Carol Homuth; four brothers, Lawrence (Loretta) Allan, Lou (Sheila) Allan, Ted (Arlene) Allan, and Glenn Allan.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer Society or any charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
A memorial service was held at Pinecrest Home on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015.
