LYDIA FERGUSON

It is with great sadness that the family of Lydia Ferguson announces her passing on Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Lydia was born Dec. 6, 1926 in Cordenons, Italy to Davide and Emma DelZotto. The family moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1930, where she attended St. Mary’s School and Fort Frances High School.
Lydia was united in marriage to Clyde Ferguson on May 10, 1947.
She worked at Wells Hardware, as well as St. Mary’s Parish Credit Union and the District of Rainy River Social Services. She also was a very active member of St. Mary’s C.W.L.
Lydia doted on her children as they grew and started their own families, and was thrilled to get to know her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They each held a special place in her heart.
Lydia leaves behind her daughter, Emma Marie and husband, Seppo Viherjoki, of Thunder Bay, Ont., son, David Ferguson and wife, Jane, of Winnipeg, Man., and daughter, Angela and husband, John Kepes, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; grandchildren, Jason (Christine) Ferguson, Stephen (Marjo) Viherjoki, Paul (Jennifer) Viherjoki, Lana Ferguson, Christopher (Jody) Ferguson, and Mark Kepes (Angela Peters); and great-grandchildren, Alexis and Aiden Ferguson, Curtis and Kaitlin Viherjoki, Josh and Destiny Mills, and Evan Ferguson.
Also surviving are her sister, Josephine Belluz of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lydia was predeceased by her husband Clyde; parents, Davide and Emma DelZotto; brother, Luigi DelZotto; brother-in-law, Cam Belluz; and nephew, Ricky Belluz.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Internment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances immediately after the funeral mass.
The pallbearers will be Lana Ferguson, Jason Ferguson, Stephen Viherjoki, Paul Viherjoki, Christopher Ferguson, Mark Kepes, and Robert Belluz.
The honourary pallbearers will be Tina Gurski, Kim Lepine, David DelZotto, Kristan DelZotto, Michael Belluz, Teresa Hampton, and Helen Cordone.
