Lucy Elizabeth Ronmark

Lucy Ronmark passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on September 27, 2014.
Lucy was born on December 8, 1943 to Mary and John Badiuk in Fort Frances, Ontario. She met the love of her life Hilding Ronmark and they were united in marriage on November 25, 1961. They had two children together, Carol and Troy. They did everything together as a family.
Lucy enjoyed playing cards, especially the game of canasta. Her mother-in-law Gertrude taught her, and a lot of great times and laughs were shared with family while playing cards. For many years Lucy, Hilding and family spent time at their cabin on Sawbill Lake. They enjoyed this time and everyone was always welcome and many good times were shared at Sawbill. Years later Hilding bought a nice boat for the family to enjoy and named it “Lucy” and together they enjoyed their time cruising around Rainy Lake.
Lucy spent her career at the Royal Bank in Fort Frances. Lucy enjoyed her work and her customers could always expect to be greeted with her beautiful smile and to receive her friendly, helpful and professional service. Her co-workers, also known as her friends at the bank, were special to her and after her retirement Lucy kept in touch by meeting for monthly lunches.
Lucy loved to cook and took pride in her special dishes and sharing her meals and treats with family and friends. Some will never forget a special meal she prepared not that long ago, making a traditional authentic Ukrainian Christmas dinner. She was an excellent host and looked forward to summer time each year when family would visit, whether it was Troy’s annual visit home from Calgary, spending time with Carol and Zeke at the lake or family reunions with her sister Olga’s family from Minnesota. She would plan for weeks ahead to make these special reunions and time together just right. She included everyone and had a talent for making you feel welcome and special while visiting at her home.
When Lucy became a grandma to Asia, she was so proud and excited. Lucy spoke of Asia often to her family and friends. Even though Asia lived in Calgary, Lucy made the most of their time together. Lucy and Hilding also looked forward to and enjoyed the trips they took to Calgary to visit.
Another activity Lucy loved was to play bingo and she had a group of friends that she would meet and play with, and she was often “Lucky Lucy” at the game.
Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Hilding, daughter Carol Egan (Zeke), son Troy Ronmark (Liane), granddaughter Asia Vettergreen.
Lucy is survived by sister Olga Roppe, brother Bill Badiuk (Raylene), Aunt Della Badiuk, brotherin-law Gary Ronmark (Carmella), and numerous nieces and nephews including Patty, Kim, Tracy, Brad, Billy, Michael, Johnny, Kathy, Ann, Barry, Tina, Patty, Julie and Brent.
Lucy was predeceased by her parents Mary and John Badiuk, sister Irene (Steve) Tkachyk and sister-in-law Sylvia (Larry) Stefanick and brotherin-law Al Roppe.
As per Lucy’s wishes no service will be held, cremation has taken place. If family and friends so desire donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
