Lucille Simone Marie Lafleur

Lucille Simone Marie Lafleur, nee DeGagne, was born Dec. 3, 1933 in LaBroquerie, Man. She came to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1936 and married on Nov. 9, 1957 to Jean-Paul Lafleur.
She was one of the first seven women in Canada to make the commitment as a Grey Nun’s Associate and also was an active member of Pro-life.
She worked as the first woman bus driver in Fort Frances. Afterwards as a taxi driver, she owned Fort Taxi and Sioux Cabs, and also delivered mail in the rural area for many years, then as a cook in Chesterfield Inlet, Northwest Territories.
She worked hard and always with a smile.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Valeda and Odillas; three brothers, Laurent, Charlie, and Rene; three sisters-in-law, Madelaine, Susanne, and Ghislaine; one brother-in-law, Gaston; one niece, Caron; one step-daughter, Jocelyne; son, Paul; and husband, Jean-Paul.
She leaves to grieve her death and to celebrate her life her three sisters and their husbands; six brothers and their wives; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; her six children, 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Daughter, Judy Lyn (Marshall) and her two children, Chad (Tammy and son, Aiden) and Jennifer (Jedde and children, Jamis-Renee, Patrick, and Jack); son, Edward (Linda) and their son, Anthony (Tuula and their children, Adam and Brooklynne); daughter, Val (Aaron) and her sons, James, Michael, and Mathew; son, Mark (Patti) and their children, Andrea (Travis and daughter, Brooke), Jeffrey (Amy), and Kim; daughter, Lyne (Serge) and their children, Steven (Nathalie), Jonathon (Kim), and Lyncia-Anne (Michel); and son, Laurier and two step-children, Randall and Amanda.
Visitation and prayers held by the Grey Nun’s Associates will be held Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances. Friends may visit at 6:30 p.m., with parish prayers offered at 7 p.m.
The funeral services will follow on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 at 11 a.m.
Pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren, Chad Hall, Jennifer Hall, James Miclash, and Jeffrey Lafleur, and godchild, Wayne DeGagne.
Honourary pallbearers will be Adele Doupe, Jenny Mallory, Lillian Bodnar, Lorraine DeGagne, Laura Tausendfrende, and Pearl DeGagne.
