Lucille Mary Jones of Couchiching First Nation passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Lucille was born Tuesday, August 14, 1949 in Fort Frances to Ralph and Ruth Bruyere.
Lucille worked at various jobs throughout the years, but most recently she was employed by the United Native Friendship Centre as the employment intake worker.
She enjoyed working there and made many friends whom she cherished.
She is survived by her children, Theresa (Bobby) of Princeton, Tex., and Susan (Tony) and Randy (Kelly) of Fort Frances, Ont.; and her very special grandchildren, Darcy, Sydney, Brandon, Bailey, and Madison.
She also is survived by her father, Ralph Bruyere, whom she loved very much, and her step-mom, Joan Bruyere, as well as her step-dad, Jim Banks of Fort Frances, Ont.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Richard (Marlis) Bruyere, Dean (Peggy) Bruyere, Don (Crystal) Bruyere, Warren Bruyere, Gary (Mandy) Bruyere, and Jackie (Sean) Debenedet, all of Fort Frances, Ont., Julie (Don) Patch and Joan Peters of International Falls, Mn., Lorraine (Jurgen) Lang from Dryden, Ont., and Louanne Bruyere from Winnipeg, Man.; as well as her aunt, Dorothy Dokuchie, and uncle, Gerald Bruyere, of Fort Frances, Ont.
She also leaves behind her two lifelong friends, Janice Parks of Fort Frances, Ont. and Brenda Monastyrski of Kitchener, Ont.; as well as John Ragoza of Winnipeg, Man., who was her friend and spiritual advisor.
Lucille also had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews, and had become their surrogate grandmother.
She was predeceased by her mom, Ruth Bruyere; and brothers, Robin, Lindsay, and Gregory.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Fort Frances, with Pastor Jonathan King officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of Lucille’s grandchildren.
