In loving memory of Lucille Laverdure (Douglas), who passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2005 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre in Dryden, Ont. at the age of 75 years.
Lucille will be sadly missed by her loving children, Michael (Crystal), Peter (Amanda), and Susan (Frank), eight grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Amy, Mindy, Melissa, Kaileigh, Bailey, and Casey; two great-grandchildren, Heath and Hannah; brothers, Elroy and Sterling Douglas; sister, Jean Miller; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Lorne.
Lucille was born in Emo, Ont. on Sept.24, 1929. She later moved to Fort Frances, Ont., where she completed her schooling, nurse’s training, and met and married her husband, Lorne.
Lucille, Lorne, and their three children moved to Dryden in 1964.
After her children had grown, Lucille re-entered the workforce being employed at the Lenver Inn, the Tree Nursery, and Safeway. Lucille was a very adventurous and independent woman. She got her driver’s license and her first car at the age of 54.
Lucille was a very loving women, she enjoyed her family, and spent many unforgettable hours loving and enjoying her grandchildren. Lucille enjoyed summer days on her deck where she planted, pruned, and enjoyed her beautiful flowers.
Lucille will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A funeral mass was held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Dryden, with Fr. Luigi Filippini officiating. Internment at the Dryden Cemetery followed the service.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 from 4 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel,” with prayers recited at 6 p.m.
