LORNA PETERS WROLSTAD

It is with great sadness that the family of Lorna May Peters Wrolstad announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lorna Peters Wrolstad, 90, entered into eternal peace, with her family by her side, on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont.
Lorna was born Nov. 26, 1922 in Blue Township, Ont., a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Hartnell.
She married the late Henry Peters in September,1939 and together they worked on the family farm in Blue Township tending sheep and cattle. They worked beside each other for more than 50 years.
She was a very hard worker. She also worked as a homemaker for the Red Cross Homemakers.
After Henry’s passing, Lorna married Vernon Wrolstad in April, 1998. They enjoyed five years together until Vernon’s passing in December, 2003.
Lorna was a firm believer in her Lord and Saviour, and a true blessing to everyone around her. She enjoyed canning, baking, reading, listening to her favourite preacher on radio and TV, and spending time with family.
Lorna was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and always was giving to others with a smile on her face.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Henry Peters in 1995; second husband, Vernon Wrolstad in 2003; daughter, Annie, in 1943; and son, Leonard, in 1962.
She also was predeceased by her siblings, Fred (Vivian) Hartnell, Emily (Billy) Embury, Doris (Leslie) Tausenfrende, and Walter Hartnell; and in-laws, Carl (Lillian) Peters, Alfred (Olive) Peters, and Walter(Winnifred) Peters.
Lorna leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted children, Leona (Peter) Van Heyst, Dorothy (Eltjo) Wiersema, Joyce (John) Penner, Carl Peters (Dawn Graham), Martha (George) Siemens, Ruth (Jack) Siemens, and Paul (Susan) Peters; stepdaughters, Shirley Kaan and Phyllis Carleton; and adoring grandchildren, Karl, Mark, Marvin (Pam), Donna (Peter), Bev (Guy), Karen (Leo), Carla, Valerie (James), Kim (Carla), Marilyn, Dawn (Dale), Dana (Ashley), Kelly (Angie) April (Robert), Jennifer (John), and Jason (Jordan).
Also surviving are 31 loving great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Hartnell.
Services were held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rainy River, Ont., with Pastor Conrad Dueck officiating.
Interment followed at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
A reception followed at the Rainy River Evangelical Covenant Church.
The pallbearers were Lorna’s grandsons and the honourary pallbearers were her granddaughters.
Friends and relatives called Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
