It is with great sadness in our hearts that we regretfully announce the passing of Loring William Fichuk, 56, of 220 Sixth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
He was born Sept. 20, 1952 in Fort Frances.
Loring was united in marriage to the former Linda Doucette on Nov. 12, 1976. For many years, he was employed at the local paper mill in Fort Frances, until his early retirement on April 30, 2009.
Loring was a true outdoorsman who had a passion and love of hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling with his wife, son, and family.
He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, William Fichuk; one sister, Debbie Fichuk; and one sister in infancy, Mary Fichuk.
Loring is survived by his wife, Linda Fichuk, of Fort Frances, Ont., and their son, Jason Fichuk and Stacey Gouliquer of Thunder Bay, Ont.
He also is survived by his mother, Adele Fichuk of Fort Frances, Ont.; one brother, Bob Fichuk and wife, Valerie Larson, of Fort Frances, Ont.; and three sisters, Marlene Metherel and husband, David Flemming, of White Rock, B.C., Linda and husband, Rick Wiedenhoeft, of Fort Frances, Ont., and Donna and husband, Hugh Anderson, of Nanaimo, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place in International Falls, Mn.
A memorial service to celebrate Loring’s life will be held Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be his family and friends.
