Loretta May Ogden (nee Rattigan) passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 90.
She was born in Fort Frances on Aug. 17, 1917, graduating from Fort Frances High School and married to Roy Ogden in 1936.
After being employed for 20 years at the La Verendrye Hospital accounting department, she retired and spent many years wintering in Messa, Ariz.
Loretta was a charter member of the Catholic Women’s League.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 1979; parents, Charles and Olive Rattigan; stepfather, Thomas LeBlanc; daughters, Lois Cain and Beverly Papich; son, Gordon Ogden; granddaughter, Krista Ogden; sister, Alma Hafdahl and husband, Verner; and brother, Ned LeBlanc and wife, Inez.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Marian Ogden; sons-in-law, Dennis (Marg) Cain and Tony Papich; eight grandchildren, Cindy (Jerry) Jaleel, Len (Chris) Cain, Michael Cain, Cathy Cain, Lori (Dave) Robertson, Leeann Clarke, Jolene Papich, and Grant Papich; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Cremation took place in International Falls, Mn., and interment will take place at a later date.
The pallbearers will be all of Loretta’s friends.
